There is an effort in Wisconsin to organize a Young Democrats of America group to encourage younger (those under 40) voters to become more actively involved in the Democratic Party.
The mission of the Young Democrats of America is to elect Democrats, advocate for progressive issues, and train the next generation of progressive leaders. It was founded in 1932 and is the largest partisan, youth-led political organization in America.
It tends to be more focused on political activism than the party at large and offers interactive, cutting-edge trainings focused on developing the next generation of Democratic elected leaders, organizers and campaign strategists.
There is some interest in beginning a Young Democrats for America group in Chippewa County. Less than 5% of our membership is under the age of 40, so there is certainly a need. If you, or someone you know, may be interested in such a group, please let us know.
